Monspeet is an elite demon given the commandment of Reticent by the Demon King and thus joining the group called the Ten Commandments. He is a gentleman demon who hates the ill-mannered. Monspeet’s style is to watch and formulate before heading into anything, preferring for his enemies to surrender. He knew Derieri’s sister and is closes to her out of all of the commandments. His is known throughout the demon realm as one of the greatest users of Hellfire and his bloodlust is enough to strike fear in powerful foes. Few things escape his senses and fewer foes live to tell the tale of their run in with him.
Monspeet Stats
Str 11 Dex 14 Con 12 Int 15 Wis 12 Cha 8 (27 point buy)
Str 11 Dex 14 Con 12 Int 16 Wis 12 Cha 10 (after racial and feat mod)
Class Wizard 6 (School of Conjuration)
The three things that I wanted to achieve in this build are:
- Swapping places with friends.
- Powerful flames of hell
- Defensive fighting
Race
For the race I chose Mephistopheles Tiefling for Monspeet’s build. This race gives him Hellish Resistance, +2 to Cha and +1 Int, and Legacy of Cania. Legacy of Cania gives Monspeet the spells Mage Hand, Burning Hands and Flame Blade.
Background
For Background I chose Sage for Monspeet. This gives him the skills of History, Perception, the languages of Celestial and Draconic and the Researcher Background Feature. He has lived through history and has a keen enough sense to perceive better than most.
Class
Monspeet’s class breakdown is a full six levels of Wizard (School of Conjuration). It is with this school that he gets his incredible Trick Star technique that allows him to swap places with people or objects. Wizard also gives him access to powerful spells, and combined with the metamagic feat allows him to increase his versatility in casting spells.
Wizard 1 is the start for Monspeet build. It is here where he gains the skills of Insight, Arcana, Spellcasting and Arcane Recovery. Arcane Recovery allows Monspeet to recover spell slots on short rest.
Wizard 2 is where he gets his school abilities as a conjurer. He gains the features of Conjuration Savant and Minor Conjuration. Minor Conjuration allows him to create inanimate objects in his hand or on the ground within 10 feet of him.
Wizard 3 is where Monspeet gains access to 2nd level spells.
Wizard 4 is the level that gives Monspeet access to the feat Metamagic Adept. With Metamagic Adept I chose Quickened Spell and Distant Spell. Now, Monspeet can cast two spells in one round and double the range of his spells to reach out and touch his foes with destructive consequences.
Wizard 5 is where Monspeet picks up 3rd level spells.
Wizard 6 is the final build for Monspeet with the Benign Transposition. With this class feature he can switch places with willing people and objects. It recharges on a long rest or when he cast a conjuration spell of 1st level or higher.
With full use of her Monspeet power he is able to perform the following techniques via spells and abilities:
Trick Star-Benign Transposition, Quickened spell, Charm Person followed Benign Transposition
HellBlaze- Absorb Elements, Control Fire, Fire Bolt, Legacy of Cania, Hellish Resistance
Hellfire Bird-Fireball with metamagic Distant Spell
Ash Dragon-Phantasmal Force
Indura Transformation-Alter Self spell
This combination of feats, stats and spells makes this DND build of Monspeet the Reticent a Firebrand in Six levels or Less.
