Miana Withrethin was born in a small drow house that was subsumed in a house war and had her placed into a monastery to serve as a spy and assassin. During her time she had visions of a tall and lithe drow woman dancing in the moonlight. Eventually, her visions grew and led her to instinctively learn a song that no drow would dare know. Fearing for her life she fled into the Underdark, feeling a guiding hand that led her through the wilderness and up to the surface. She was then led through a small cavern by a beam of moonlight that led her to a ruined keep’s library room. It was in this room where she was greeted by a high elven priestess of Eilistraee named Aranel. It was here where the priestess slowly helped Miana become accustomed to the surface world. Aranel teamed up with Miana to aid the suspicious communities of the Dalelands, assisting them in small matters such as sowing their fields up to defend them from bandits and the occasional drow surface raiders. She was trained in the magical arts of Bladesinging Wizardry and upon completion of her training, she was gifted with a moonlit longsword. Now she wanders the Dalelands seeking to spread the beauty, music, and swordsmanship of her goddess to those on the surface world and the Underdark as well.

Stats (27- point buy)
Str 10 Dex 12 Con 12 Int 14 Wis 14 Cha 11 (base stats)
Str 10 Dex 14 Con 12 Int 14 Wis 14 Cha 12 (racial and feat adjustment)
The three things that I wanted to achieve with this build are:
- Highly Mobile Skirmisher.
- Dealing Death through Dance.
- Strong Defense through Actions.
Race
For the Race of this build, I went with Dark Elf (Drow). With this race, she gains +2 to Dex and +1 to Cha, Keen Senses, Fey Ancestry, Trance, Superior Darkvision, Sunlight Sensitivity, Drow Magic, and Drow Weapon Training.
Background
For Background, I chose Folk Hero. This gives her the skills of Animal Handling and Survival, Tool Proficiencies of Vehicles (Land), Smith’s Tool, and the Background Feature of Rustic Hospitality.
Class
For the Class makeup of this build, I went with a mix of Monk 4 (Way of the Kensei)/Wizard 2 (Bladesinging). With this combination of classes she gains a large number of defensive abilities from both class features and spells, strong damage dealing from melee and range by use of the spell Magic Missle, and strong mobile skirmisher who is a danger at any range whether with blade or spell. Living her new life above ground, fending off her former kin, and protecting her small piece of the Dalelands takes a toll on Miana but with Eilistraee’s blessing, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Monk 1 is the beginning of this build with the skills of Lyre, Acrobatics, Religion, Unarmored Defense, and Martial Arts.
Monk 2 is where Miana picks up the features of Ki and Unarmored Movement.
Monk 3 grants her access to Way of the Kensei. With this monastic tradition, she gains Path of the Kensei: Painter’s Supplies, Longsword and Dart, and Deflect Missiles. Now she can use a Longsword as dexterously as a rapier, increase her AC with Agile Parry, and do extra damage with her ranged dart attack.
Monk 4 is where she picks up the feat Metallic Dragon (Int). With this feat, she gains Draconic Healing and Protective Wings. It is here where she gains her ability to heal with Cure Wounds and the ability to protect her friends with flowing silvery wings of hair granting her friends a bonus to their AC.
Wizard 1 is the next journey of her development. It is here where she gains Spellcasting and Arcane Recovery.
Wizard 2 is the final level for this build with access to the Arcane Tradition of Bladesinging. With Bladesinging she gains Training in War and Song and Bladesong. With Training in War and Song, she gains proficiency with light armor, the Performance Skill, and access to Whip use. Bladesinging gives the benefits of +Int bonus to her AC, increased speed by 10 feet, advantage on Acrobatics checks, and a bonus on Con saving throws to maintain concentration on spells.
