Zenitsu Agatsuma is one of the main characters of Demon Slayer, a member of Tanjiro’s team, and a Demon Slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps. He is known for being a cowardly womanizer who spends most of his time running away from his responsibilities or hitting on any woman who shows him affection. He got himself into a ton of debt in order to gain the affection of a woman, but she left him for someone else and was saved by his future teacher Jigoro Kuwajima. Zenitsu was not skilled in any form of Thunder Breathing except for the first form. With Jigoro’s constant encouragement, Zenitsu would go on to not only perfect the first form but to create his own form as well. His Breathing Style is a powerful variation on Form one of the Thunder Breathing style that he uses in a variety of applications. This gives him lightning-like speed with explosive damage applied to a refined point that can decapitate any demon foe.

Zenitsu Stats

Str 10 Dex 13 Con 13 Int 9 Wis 13 Cha 15 (27 point buy)

Str 10 Dex 14 Con 14 Int 9 Wis 13 Cha 16 (after racial and feat mod)

Class Rogue 1/Warlock 5 (Hexblade)

The three things that I wanted to achieve in this build are:

  1. Destructive Damage of a Thunderstorm.
  2. Lightning Speed around the Battlefield.
  3. Wooing and Influencing.

Background

For Background, I chose Entertainer for Zenitsu. He gains the Skill Proficiencies of Insight and Performance and Nature, Tool Proficiencies of Disguise Kit and Lute, the language of Abyssal, and the Back Feature of Entertainer. This feature allows him to exchange his services for free room and board at an establishment.

Race

For the race, I chose Eladrin for him. With this race, he gains +1 to Dex, +1 to Con, and +1 to Cha, Darkvision, Fey Ancestry, Fey Step, Keen Senses, and Trance. The two key features for this build are Fey Step: Summer and Keen Senses: Perception. With this race, he can move around the battlefield quickly while damaging foes, while gaining the necessary skill of Perception.

Class

Zenitsu’s class breakdown is a mixture of two classes, Rogue 1/Warlock 5(Hexblade). It is with these classes that he gains access to multiple skills, expertise in the skills of Athletics and Perception to represent his strong jumping prowess and amazing hearing, access to multiple movement increasing spells, fire, lightning, and thunder damage, strong frontline fighting with multiple options of attack, and force of personality that powers his attacks. With his strong Perception bonus, he is able to perceive whatever is in his area even while asleep. This combination of class and feats is the best attempt to consolidate his abilities and talents at this level.

Rogue 1 is the starting class for Zenitsu. This gives him the skills of Athletics, Acrobatics, Insight, Stealth, Expertise in Perception and Athletics, Sneak Attack, and Thieves’ Cant.

Warlock 1 is the next step in Zenitsu’s development. It is with this level he gains Pact Magic, Hexblade’s Curse, and Hex Warrior. Now he can use his Charisma instead of his Dexterity or Strength in order to land his destructive strikes.

Warlock 2 gives him access to the Eldritch Invocations of Eldritch Mind and Eldritch Smite.

Warlock 3 is where Zenitsu gains a Pact Boon with Pact pf the Blade as well as access to 2nd level spells.

Warlock 4 grants him the Feat of Charger. With Charger, Zenitsu is able to use his bonus action and action to Dash and then make one attack against a foe as long as they move 10 feet in a straight line. Once he hits with the attack he can either add +5 to his damage or move a foe 10 feet back.

Warlock 5 is the last level for this build with an extra Eldritch Invocation of Thirsting Blade as well as access to 3rd level spells.

With full use of Zenitsu’s powers he can perform the following techniques via spells and abilities:

First Form: Thunderclap and Flash- Charger+Eldritch Smite or Fey Step +Booming Blade +Eldritch Smite

Sixfold- Blur+Fey Step for the first round, then booming blade +Eldritch Smite

Eightfold- Fey Step+Blink for the first round, booming blade + Eldritch smite (if on the same plane) for the second round

God Speed-Fey Step 5ft behind the opponent then Thunder Step 20 feet away for the first round, then Charger + Eldritch Smite for the second round

Seventh Form: Flaming Thunder God- Charger + Eldritch Smite

This combination of feats, stats, and spells makes this DND build of Zenitsu a peal of thunderous devastation that levels defeat upon any who stands against him in Six levels or Less.
