Tarmiel is a powerful, three-headed member of the goddess race, one of the four Archangels, and a commander of Stigma. He was gifted the grace of Ocean Tornado by the Supreme Deity and he uses its torrents of water to drown his foes. Tarmeil has a gentle demeanor and is confident in his own abilities. He has great care for his companions but this leads him to become emotional which sways his judgment at times. He is normally seen working with Sariel as they battle against the Ten Commandments and the demon clan in general. Though currently inhabiting the body of a Priest of Destruction named Arbus, he still wields the overwhelming fury of a tsunami.

Tarmiel Stats

Str 12 Dex 12 Con 14 Int 10 Wis 9 Cha 15 (27 point buy)

Class Sorcerer 5 (Storm Sorcery)/Warlock 1(The Fathomless)

The three things that I wanted to achieve in this build are:

  1. Furious Power of an Ocean.
  2. Torrent of Magical Power.
  3. Power of an Archangel.

Background

For Background, I chose Acolyte for Tarmiel. He gains the Skill Proficiencies of Acrobatics, Perception, the Languages of Infernal and Primordial, and the Background Feature of Shelter of the Faithful. This feature allows him to get free healing and care at an associated temple as well as support from those who share the same faith.

Race

For the race, I chose Protector Aasimar for him. With this race, he gains Darkvision, Celestial Resistance, Healing Hands, Light Bearer, and Radiant Soul. Radiant Soul is where Sariel will be able to manifest his wings for extended levels of flight along with extra radiant damage with either a melee attack or spell.

Class

Tarmiel’s class breakdown is a combination of two classes, Sorcerer 5(Divine Soul)/Warlock 1(The Fathomless) It is with these classes that he gains multiple class features related to becoming a destructive magical powerhouse that mimics the vast depth of the oceans themselves. He gains numerous spells related to water, defensive powers, strong healing abilities, and crowd control capabilities. This combination of classes is the best attempt to consolidate his abilities and talents at this level.

Sorcerer 1 is the starting class for Tarmiel. This gives him the skills of Religion and Insight, Spellcasting, Divine Magic: Good and Favored by the Gods. Divine Magic: Good gives him the Cure Wounds spell while Favored by the Gods allows him to add 2d4 to an attack roll or saving throw if he should fail a save or miss an attack.

Sorcerer 2 gives him the class feature of Font of Magic. This is where Tarmiel gains the ability to give himself more spell slots at the cost of Sorcery Points and vice versa.

Sorcerer 3 is where he gets the ability to enhance his spells in subtle ways with Metamagic. For Tarmiel I chose Quickened Spell and Twinned Spell. This gives him the ability to cast a 1st level or higher spell and a cantrip in a round or affected multiple opponents with one spell.

Sorcerer 4 is the level that grants him a feat. The feat I went with was Shadow Touched (Cha). This increases his Charisma, he gains the Invisibility and the Silent Image spell. This will help him gain the illusion of melting away like water when he is attacked by an enemy. Tarmiel will cast Invisibility, move and then cast Silent Image in the next round.

Sorcerer 5 grants Tarmiel 3rd level spells. Now he gains access to heavy-hitting spells like Wall of Water, Tidal Wave, and Fireball.

Warlock 1 is the last level for this build with the class features of Tentacle of the Deeps, Pact Magic, and Gift of the Sea. Tentacle of the Deeps gives him an extra attacker on the field that cannot be attacked. Gift of the Sea gives him a swim speed of 40 feet and the ability to breathe underwater.

With full use of Tarmiel’s powers he can perform the following techniques via spells and abilities:

Ark- Shield, Guiding Bolt, Word of Radiance

Healing- Healing Hands, Cure Wounds

Flight- Radiant Soul

Omega Ark- Radiant Soul + Fireball

Spiteful Saint- Magic Missile

Piercing Water Pillar- Tentacle of the Deeps

Enlil’s Divine Punishment- Wall of Water+Thunderwave+ Radiant Soul + Sariel’s Contribution

Grace of Ocean- Tidal Wave, Wall of Water, Silent Image, Invisibility, Armor of Agathys

This combination of feats, stats, and spells makes this DND build of Tarmiel a vast whirling sea of overwhelming force in Six levels or Less.
