Kelprys was always drawn to martial arts. He quickly enlisted in his local militia and served with as much zest and zeal that he could muster. Despite his size and wiry disposition, he was brimming with raw strength. His weapon of choice became the mighty heft of a greatsword and he fought on the flanks to keep his fellow soldiers safe from horsemen. Having finished his time he was enticed to join the ranks of the esteemed paladins and even trained as a knight’s errand. His path changed when he was introduced to the might of runic magic. This path entranced his mind and led him to explore dwarven ruins and find a teacher to become a Rune Knight. Wiry reflexes paired with powerful sword swings and runic skills lend to a powerful bunny of the battlefield.

Kelprys

Race: Harengon, +2 Str, +1 Con, Hare-Trigger, Leporine Senses, Lucky Footwork, Rabbit Hop

Stats (27- point buy)

Str 14 Dex 12 Con 15 Int 8 Wis 10 Cha 13 (base stats)

Str 16 Dex 12 Con 16 Int 8 Wis 10 Cha 13 (racial and feat adjustment)

The three things that I wanted to achieve with this build are:

  1. Great hopping damage
  2. Bounding maneuverability.
  3. Lucky feet.

Race

For the Race of this build, I went with Harengon. This race gives him Hare-Trigger, Leporine Senses, Lucky Footwork, and Rabbit Hop. This gives him extra maneuverability, quick reflexes, and a higher initiative bonus.

Background

For Background I chose Soldier. This gives him the skills of Intimidation, Stealth, Tool Proficiencies Vehicles (Land), Dice Set, and the Background Feature of Military Rank.

Class

For the Class makeup of this build, I went Fighter 5 (Rune Knight)/ Paladin 1. With this combination of classes, Kelprys will have a strong damage potential, damage avoidance ability, and utility to help out a party in a variety of situations. I would weave in the Paladin level with Fighter to gain the benefits of the build quicker.

Fighter 1 starts off his build with the skills of Insight, Athletics, Fighting Style-Great Weapon Fighting, and Second Wind.

Fighter 2 is where Kelprys gains Second Wind.

Fighter 3 is where he picks up his Rune Knight Features. He gains Bonus Proficiencies with smith’s tools and the language of Giant. He also gains Rune Carver: Cloud and Stone Rune and Giant’s Might.

Fighter 4 is where Kelprys gains the feat, Great Weapon Master. Now he can deal an extra +10 damage on top of Giant’s Might extra damage.

Fighter 5 is where he gains Extra Attack.

Paladin 1 is the final part of this build for Kelprys. This level gives him Divine Sense and Lay on Hands.

This combination of skills, feat, racial traits, and class features allows him to inflict a great amount of consistent damage with options to mitigate hits onto other foes or charm a foe to take them out of the fight. His racial traits grant him greater maneuverability

Spells

None besides spell-like abilities

Equipment

Standard Fighter gear with the mighty Greatsword.
