Domenica was always seen as a pariah of her clan. She was seen as weaker than most goliaths and struggled to bring things of value to her clan. Once she was of age she was expelled from her clan. What should have been a death knell for her ended up being a boon. While out scavenging she found a runic etched skull that spoke to her words of encouragement and promises of power overwhelming. This skull guided her down the path of the necromancer and activated her dormant sorcerer prowess that lingered in her blood. Emerging from her hermetic life she now seeks to grow her power further with her new tribe under her command.

Race: Goliath +2 Str, +1 Con, Natural Athlete, Stone’s Endurance, Powerful Build, Mountain Born

Stats (27- point buy)

Str 10 Dex 13 Con 13 Int 9 Wis 13 Cha 15 (base stats)

Str 12 Dex 13 Con 14 Int 9 Wis 13 Cha 16 (racial and feat adjustment)

The three things that I wanted to achieve with this build are:

  1. Necromantic Power.
  2. Deceptive practices.
  3. Harder to kill than a Zombie.

Race

For Race of this build I chose Goliath. With Goliath you get +2 to Str, +1 to Con, the athletics skill, once per short rest damage soak, a larger capacity to carry drag or lift and cold damage resistance.

Background

For Background I chose Hermit. This background grants her the skills of Medicine and Religion, the Tool proficiency of Herbalism Kit and the language of Undercommon. She also gains the feature of Discovery which gives you a great deal of role play involvement and power based upon the knowledge that you have discovered.

Class

For the Class make up of this build I went with a combination of Warlock 1 (The Undying)/Sorcerer 5 (Divine Soul). This combination gives her the ability to walk into crypts with limited issues while delivering a ton of subterfuge and weakening abilities.

Warlock 1 is the starting class for Domenica. With this level she gains Deception, Arcana and the class feature Among the Dead. This feature gives her spare the dying cantrip, advantage on saving throws against disease, and sanctuary spell effects against undead.

With Warlock laying the background for her power the next escalation of power is Sorcerer.

Sorcerer 1 Divine Soul gives her Divine Magic, and Favored By the Gods. Divine Magic (Evil) gives her the spell inflict wounds while Favored By the Gods gives her extra dice to roll in order to increase your chance at succeeding on a missed attack or save.

Sorcerer 2 allows Domenica to gain more spell slots with the feature Font of Magic.

Sorcerer 3 is where she gets Metamagic that allows her to strengthen her spells. With this build she gets Quickened Spell and Twinned Spell. Quickened allows her to cast a regular spell and a cantrip in one round while Twinned gives the ability to target two creatures with one spell.

Sorcerer 4 and 5 give her access to stronger spells and the feat of Actor. This feat gives her an increase to her Cha, advantage on Deception and Persuasion when being a different person and the ability to mimic speech of another person or other creatures.

Now she has the ability ply her trade and create an army at night and pick up supplies in town in a completely different guise. Her spell selection gives her multiple allies in battle, while her defensive powers work to keep her from being taken out quickly.
