Hello world!/In Six or Less Format

Hello Tale Tellers!

Welcome to the first post for Six or less. With this first post I am going to layout… well the layout for this blog. It is my desire to bring the spirit of the characters presented to a gaming table near you. So lets begin with how we will do that.

So… lets start with the ground work.

First, I will be using DNDbeyond.com as I have found it to be a great way to create character’s and have invested quite a bit into it over the years.

Second, I will either use standard array or point buy (which I will list at the beginning of the post). I find this way to be helpful in creating a baseline for each character. If you get better stats then it just means you are closer to the dream then.

Third, as far as source materials are concerned I will shy away from anything that is not officially published material and even then just official stuff. I love a lot of critical role and rick and morty content but I find its easier to just keep character creation as simple as possible.

Lastly, lets talk about equipment. I will tend to stick with standard gear and using the optional rules for wealth per level just purchase certain pieces of gear with that.

Whew! With that settled lets dig into how we will get the character’s created then.

I will go about listing the medium that I will attempt to create the character from. I will then boil down three goals that I will attempt to hit in the character build itself. I find breaking the character down like this helps to focus on what I feel makes up the core of the character.

From there I will list out the race, class, stats profession, feats, spell selection (if any) and equipment. With each section I will explain why I feel this was the best fit and if I am torn between two choices I will list them as alternatives for the character.

As always this is just my take on what I feel makes up the character and definitely feel free to voice your opinions below.

I will be uploading character blog twice weekly. Tuesday will be an original character build (just some experimental character’s I had running around in my head) and Friday will be 1d3 character builds from the medium for that week.
