Imina is a half elf archer of the worker group called Foresight. A primary ranged archery user, Imina is know for her agility and her intelligence. Imina is know to have exceptional perception, situational awareness and floating well in water. She is also the lover of Hekkeran Termite and enjoys alcohol during her off time.

Str 10 Dex 15 Con 11 Int 12 Wis 15 Cha 8 (27 point buy)

Str 10 Dex 16 Con 11 Int 12 Wis 16 Cha 10 (after racial mod)

Class 1 Ranger / 5 Rogue (Scout)

The three things that I wanted to achieve in this build are:

  1. Agile Archery Skills.
  2. Exceptional perceptive abilities.
  3. Ability to float well in water.

Race

For the race I choose wood half-elf. I chose Undercommon for the language, ability score increases to Wis and Cha, and Fleet of Foot for the Half Elf Variant. As a half elf you get Darkvision and Fey Ancestry which is useful in exploring an underground labyrinth or deep forest. Fey Ancestry gives you a better shot at not being charmed or put to sleep, both of which are game ending if you fail the save.

For Background I went with Mercenary Veteran since she is a Worker and not a soldier. This is where she picks up Persuasion, Acrobatics and Dice Set proficiencies.

Class

For Class breakdown I went with one level of ranger and the remaining five into rogue. Imina’s character classes are pretty straightforward. Ranger 1 gives Imina the skills of Perception, Stealth, and Athletics. For Favored Enemy I went with Humanoids and chose Human, Goblinoids and the language Goblin. To finish out ranger 1, the Natural Explorer option is Forest. This sets up her archery skill set, her perceptive ability and a strong ability to swim and jump.

The remaining levels are Rogue 1 to 4. This is where she will separate herself from the average woodsman. Rogue 1 gives her a ton of features. For proficiencies Imina gets the skill of Insight. The Expertise class feature picks are Perception and Athletics which fufill the need to make her an exceptional at perception and a strong floater in the water. She also gains Sneak Attack and Thieves’ Cant.

Rogue 2 grants her Cunning Action which helps to get her out of melee when the need arises. Rogue 3 is where she starts to shine with the Archetype of Scout. Skirmisher allows her to move up to half of her speed if an enemy ends its turn within five feet of her, without provoking opportunity attacks. This is where her Agile approach to archery will begin to shine. Survivalist gives her even more skills with Nature and Survival and grants expertise with both skills as well.

Rogue 4 is where Imina gets the feat Sharpshooter. This will increase her range, her ability to hit enemies in cover and an increase in damage. Rogue 5 is the capstone for this build with Uncanny Dodge. This will keep you in the fight longer with the ability to half an attack’s damage.

Spells

None besides the power of Archery and elusiveness

Equipment

Standard ranger equipment with a focus on the Longbow. Eventually you will want to upgrade with a magical bow or ammunition.

As always a shout out to Overlord Wiki for their amazing information on the characters from this amazing series. Until next week.
