Class Breakdown: Monk 5 (Way of the Open Hand)/ Warlock 1 (The Undead)

Jin Enjoji, aka Jiji, is the lively and expressive deuteragonist of Dandadan, Momo Ayase’s childhood friend and first crush, with a flair for the dramatic, exaggerated expressions, and a good heart that shines through his playful, chaotic personality.

That is, until his family home becomes haunted, leading to his parents’ hospitalization and him moving in with Momo and her grandmother Seiko, only to find himself possessed by the malevolent yokai Evil Eye. Through this possession, Jiji harnesses powerful aura manipulation abilities, including transformative states triggered by water temperature and devastating beam attacks in the shape of footballs, joining Momo and Okarun in a series of bizarre supernatural battles that test his protective instincts and loyalty. This build is of him devastating his foes with overwhelming aura blasts and enhanced physical prowess that he can unleash with his ability to channel Evil Eye’s power.

Monk is the main class for Jiji, giving him both enhanced mobility and heavy unarmed damage, and optional features added to mimic more of Evil Eye’s abilities. Monk gives him the proficiencies of Athletics, History, and Cobbler’s Tools, Unarmored Defense, Martial Arts, Ki, Unarmored Movement, Deflect Missles, Slow Fall, Extra Attack, and Stunning Strike. With the optional class features of Ki-Fueled Attack, Quickened Healing, and Focused Aim.

Monastic Tradition: Way of the Long Death is where Jiji garners an increase in his durability when he defeats his foe. Way of the Long Death grants him Touch of Death, giving him temporary hit points when he drops a creature to 0 hp.

Warlock with the Undead patron is where Jiji gains his ability to shift into his Evil Eye form, as well as further powers to mimic his energy techniques to devastate his foes with projectiles of unerring accuracy, as well as move foes across the battlefield. Warlock gifts him Otherworldly Patron: The Undead, Pact Magic, Expanded Spell List, and Form of Dread.

The feat of Spell Sniper doubles the spell range of rolled attack spells, ignore half cover and three-quarters cover, and gain the cantrip of Magic Stone using the Wis modifier. This feat can be used to double the range of his Stone Throw ability as well.

The feat Strike of the Giants (Stone Giant) further enhances the damage of a melee or a thrown range attack by an extra 1d6 force damage, as well as triggering a Str saving throw or be pushed back by 10 feet in a straight line.

The feat Keenness of the Stone Giant gifts him a +1 to Wis, an increased darkvision by another 60 feet, and a magical attack that inflicts 1d10 force and forces a Str saving throw or be knocked prone.

Background: Giant Foundling gives Jiji the proficiencies of Intimidation and Survival, Languages of Giant and Undercommon and the Background Feature of Strike of the Giants.

Equipment: Shortsword, 10 Darts, an Explorer’s Pack and Giant Foundling Starting Equipment.
