Xylo Forbartz is the battle-hardened and quietly defiant former Holy Knight commander of Sentenced to Be a Hero, a condemned “goddess killer” whose calm, measured demeanor conceals a mind that treats war not as glory, but as a brutal system to be endured and outmaneuvered. Once the leader of an elite order before being framed and sentenced to endless combat as part of Penal Hero Unit 9004, he possesses exceptional combat instincts and tactical precision—most evident in his ability to adapt mid-battle, turning even limited tools and cursed circumstances into overwhelming advantage. Drawn not to heroism but to survival and truth, Xylo studies both allies and enemies with a hardened clarity, leading from the front as a reluctant commander who weaponizes experience, discipline, and sheer will to carve a path through a cycle of death that refuses to let him go.

Paladin is the main class for Xylo, giving him access to martial weapons, heavy armor, and powerful abilities to aid in combat. Paladin gives him the skills of Athletics and Insight, Divine Sense, Lay on Hands, Fighting Style: Blind Fighting, Spellcasting, Divine Smite, Harness Divine Power, Divine Health, and Extra Attack.

Sacred Oath of Glory is where Xylo gains access to his incredible agility. Oath of Glory gives him Oath Spells of guiding bolt, heroism, enhance ability and magic weapon, and Channel Divinity of Peerless Athlete and Inspiring Smite.

Sorcerer with the Storm Sorcery sorcerer origin is where Xylo gains greater damage potential and even more maneuverability around a battlefield with both spells and the class features. Sorcerer gifts him the Additional Sorcerer Spells optional class feature, Spellcasting, Wind Speaker, and Tempestuous Magic.

The feat Tavern Brawler grants him a +1 to Str, proficiency with improvised weapons, unarmed strike damage of 1d4, and the ability to bonus action grapple when he hits a foe with either an unarmed strike or an improvised weapon on his turn.

The feat Strike of the Giants (Fire Giant) further enhances the damage of a melee or a thrown range attack by an extra 1d10 fire damage.

The feat Sharpshooter gifts him the ability to attack at long range without imposing disadvantage on his ranged weapon attack rolls; he can ignore half cover and ¾ cover, and he can take a -5 to gain a +10 to the attack’s damage.

Background: Giant Foundling gives Xylo the proficiencies of Intimidation and Survival, Languages of Giant and Celestial, and the Background Feature of Strike of the Giants.
