If I had to make this character I would do this:

Race: Variant Human + 1 to Dex and Wis, Skills: Arcana, Feat: Mage Slayer

Stats (27 pts)

Str 10 Dex 15 Con 14 Int 12 Wis 13 Cha 8

Class Breakdown: Fighter 1/Monk 5 (Way of the Kensei)

Will Serfort is the kind-hearted, sword-wielding protagonist of Wistoria: Wand and Sword. He has no talent for magic as he attends a magical academy. Still, he is a peerless blade-wielding warrior and apt student, capable of felling mages and monsters with equal measure. This build is of him fighting to reach the top of Mercedes Caulis to watch a sunset one more time with his beloved Elfaria.

Fighter is the starting class for Will, giving him his training in the use of martial weapons, heightening his senses, and allowing him to heal up in the middle of a fight. With Fighter he gains the proficiencies of Athletics, History, all armors, and martial weapons, Fighting Style: Blind Fighting and Second Wind.

Monk is the class that gifts Will with his incredible speed, impressive blade work, and evasive fighting style. With Monk, he gains Unarmored Defense, Martial Arts, Ki, Unarmored Movement, Deflect Missiles, Slow Fall, Extra Attack Stunning Strike.

Way of the Kensei is where Will Serfort increases the power of his blade’s abilities and further enhancements to his mobile fighting style. Kensei gives him Path of the Kensei: Calligrapher’s Supplies, Longsword, and Dart for weapon foci, Agile Parry, and Kensei’ Shot.

The feat Mage Slayer gives him a melee weapon attack reaction if a foe casts spells within 5 feet of him, gives a damaged creature disadvantage on saving throws to maintain concentration, and advantage on saving throws on spells cast on him by creatures within 5 feet of him.

The feat Mobile grants him + 10 to his speed, the ability to use the Dash action over difficult terrain, and the ability to prevent opportunity attacks against him if he attacks that foe in the same turn.

The feat Strike of the Giants (Hill Strike) grants Will an extra 1d6 weapon damage on his melee weapon attacks and forces the target to make a Str saving throw or gain the prone condition.

Background: Giant Foundling gives Will the skill proficiencies of Intimidation and Survival, the languages of Giant and Elvish, and the Background Feature of Strike of the Giants.

Equipment: Longsword, Shortsword, 2 Handaxes, Chain Mail an Explorer’s pack, and Giant Foundling Starting Equipment.
