Maru is the deuteragonist of the Heavenly Delusion. Maru is an incredible hand-to-hand fighter paired with keen senses, regenerative abilities, and the power to kill any man-eater he touches. Being born after the Calamity that has befallen the world, Maru has never known a world that was not ruined. Traveling alongside his new-found bodyguard and crush Kiruko, the two travel in search of “Heaven”.
Monk is where Maru picks up his unparalleled martial arts fighting style, his impressive regenerative capability, and his Maru-Touch ability (sometimes call Fatal Dive). With Monk, he gets Unarmored Defense, Martial Arts, Ki, Unarmored Movement, Deflect Missiles, Slow Fall, and Stunning Strike.
Monastic Tradition of the Way of Mercy gives Maru Implements of Mercy, Hand of Healing, and Hand of Harm.
Fighter is where Maru gains his ability to sense Hiruko’s nearby as well as further self-healing. With Fighter he gains Fighting Style-Blind Fighting and Second Wind.
The feat Mobile gives Maru an increased speed of 10 feet, the ability to use the Dash action over difficult terrain, and when he attacks a foe he can move away without provoking opportunity attacks.
The feat Crusher enhances Maru’s martial capability with a +1 to Con, the power to move a foe 5 feet to an unoccupied space if the damage is bludgeoning and if he scores a critical hit he can gain advantage until the start of his next turn.
Background: Far Traveler gives Maru Survival and Athletics, Tool Proficiency of Dice Set, the Language: Deep Speech, and the Background Feature of All Eyes on You.
