Yuna Lothic was originally a half-elven ranger who was a newly installed protector of a forest domain. It wasn’t until she started to explore this region that she uncovered a sinister cabal of maligned elementals and evil fey. She started to develop her martial techniques in line with the path of a paladin until she was trapped by a looming oak casting an impossible shadow. It was during this time she was transformed into a Hexblood and spent 20 years in a comatose state. It wasn’t until a passing group of adventures fought back a scourge of evil fey that she was finally freed from her entombment. Forever changed by her current state Yuna Lothic shed her old name and instead adopted the moniker of Yoraloth Longshadow and now walks the path of vengeance to decimate the cabal that has taken over her forest.

Background

For Background, I chose Feylost for Yoraloth. This gives her the skills of Deception and Survival, the Tool Proficiencies of Pan Flute, Language: Sylvan, with the Background Feature of Feywild Connection.

Class

I went with Ranger 1 /Paladin 5 (Oath of Vengeance) for the class makeup of this build. With these classes, she becomes a tremendous tracker of her foes, strong one-handed damage dealing enhanced with radiant smites, stealthy scout abilities, and fierce frontline fighting potential. Combined with her racial abilities makes Yoraloth a dogmatic hunter of her foes regardless of where they hide.

Ranger 1 begins Yuna’s life with the skills of Stealth, Investigation, and Nature, Favored Enemy: Elementals with the language of Primordial, and Natural Explorer: Forest.

Paladin 1 is where Yuna picks up Divine Sense and Lay on Hands. Divine Sense gives her the extraordinary ability to sense the location of any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet of herself. Meanwhile, Lay on Hands allows her to heal wounds, cure a disease, or neutralize one poison.

Paladin 2 gives her Fighting Style: Dueling, Spellcasting, and Divine Smite

Paladin 3 is the level that represents Yuna’s transformation into Yoraloth with Sacred Oath of Vengeance, Channel Divinity of either Abjure Enemy or Vow of Enmity, and Oath spells of Bane and Hunter’s Mark.

Paladin 4 is where Yoraloth learns to cast spells while being armed with the feat of War Caster. Now, Yoraloth gains advantage on Con saving throws to maintain concentration on spells, perform somatic components of spells with a weapon or shield in hand, and the ability to cast a spell on a foe as an opportunity attack.

Paladin 5 is the last level for Yoraloth with Extra Attack and Oath Spells of Hold Person and Misty Step.
