Willow Youngcrest was a young child left on the doorsteps of a small church in a shanty part of her town. As she grew up along with the other orphans of this small cloister she noticed the hierarchy of the clergy and noted that certain members had slightly different habits and pendants that they wore. These clergy members were often found training their minds and bodies in the small sand pit in the back of the church. Willow was one day pulled aside by Priestess Leona and offered an opportunity to train in the sand pit as well. Willow jumped at the opportunity and from that day on she trained alongside her mentor Priestess Leona training her already lithe body in martial arts and strengthening her keen instincts to read body movements and intentions of people. Once she was able to harness her ki she was then allowed to assist in assignments alongside Priestess Leona. Their order, known simply as Crimson Heart, mission is to eliminate the corrupt from the various positions of power throughout the kingdom. Now, Sister Willow serves the Crimson Heart using her talents and skills to forward the orders’ goals with silent and deadly efficiency.

Race

For the Race of this build, I went with Variant Human. With Variant Human he gains +1 to Wis and Dex, Skill: Perception, Feat: Defensive Duelist.

Background

For Background, I chose to create a custom background for Willow called Religious Assassin. This gives her the skills of Deception and Religion, Tool Proficiency of Disguise Kit, the Language of Celestial, and the Background Feature of Safe Haven from the Faction Agent.

Class

For the Class makeup of this build, I went with Monk 6 (Way of the Four Elements). With this class, she gains a full suite of powerful monk abilities coupled with the destructive Elemental Disciplines. The potent combination of powers and abilities gives Willow multiple options to dispatch a foe in any number of ways.

Monk 1 is the beginning of this build with the skills of Acrobatics and Insight Tool Proficiency of Alchemist’s Supplies, Unarmored Defense, and Martial Arts.

Monk 2 is where Willow picks up the features of Ki and Unarmored Movement. The key feature at this level is Ki since it grants her the ability to gain an extra attack, Dodge, Disengage or Dash as a bonus action.

Monk 3 grants her the Monastic Tradition of Way of the Four Elements and Deflect Missiles. At this level, she gains the Elemental Disciplines of Fist of Unbroken Air and Elemental Attunement.

Monk 4 is where Willow picks up the feat of Piercer and Slow Fall. With this feat, she gains a +1 to Dex, the ability to re-roll her a die of her piercing damage once per turn, and roll one additional damage die when she scores a critical hit.

Monk 5 is where she is gifted the features of Extra Attack and Stunning Strike. With this level, she can take gain an extra attack every round as well as the ability to stun a foe which is an automatic critical hit since the foe is inflected with the stun effect.

Monk 6 is the final level for this build with the features of Ki-Empowered Strikes, Unarmored Movement, and Elemental Disciplines: Fangs of the Fire Snake. It is here where Willow now moves at 45 feet, unarmed attacks count as magic for overcoming resistances and the ability to gain reach while inflicting fire damage that lasts for all attacks that round.
