Billy West, otherwise known as Bayou Billy, is a survivalist, vigilante, and former soldier from the swamp lands of the south. He fights against the evil machinations of evil crime boss Godfather Gordon. This time Gordon has made things personal and has captured Billy’s Girlfriend, Annabelle Lane. Now he leads a one-man demolition spree straight to the front door of Godfather Gordon. Will Bayou Billy be able to defeat his nemesis and rescue Annabelle before time runs out?

Str 15 Dex 14 Con 13 Int 8 Wis 13 Cha 9 (base stats)
Str 16 Dex 14 Con 14 Int 8 Wis 13 Cha 9 (racial and feat adjustment)
The three things that I wanted to achieve with this build are:
- Rough and Tough Fisticuffs.
- Swamp Born Hero.
- Deadly Ranged Combatant.
Race
For the Race of this build, I went with Variant Human. With this race Billy gets the Language of Undercommon, + 1 to Str and Con, Skills: Perception, and the Feat: Mobile.
Background
For Background I chose Soldier. This gives him the skills of Athletics and Intimidation, Tool Proficiency of Vehicles (Land) and Dice Set, and the Background Feature of Military Rank.
Class
For the Class makeup of this build, I went with a mix of Fighter 1/ Ranger 5 (Hunter). With this combination of classes, he gains strong melee abilities, the ability to track through the swamp effectively, effectively become a one-man army with features such as Horde Breaker and Spells, and ranged attacking expert from throwing knives to guns.
Ranger 1 is the beginning of this build with the skills of Nature, Survival and Insight, Favored Enemy: Beasts, the language of Sylvan, and the Natural Explorer: Swamp.
Fighter 1 is where Bayou Billy picks up the features of Fighting Style: Unarmed Fighting, and Second Wind.
Ranger 2 grants him Fighting Style: Thrown Weapon Fighting and Spellcasting.
Ranger 3 is where he picks up the Ranger Archetype: Hunter, Primeval Awareness, and Hunter’s Prey: Horde Breaker. Horde Breaker is key for this level with the ability to attack a different creature with the same weapon within 5 feet of the original target.
Ranger 4 is where he gains the feat of Sharpshooter. This feat allows Bayou Billy to attack at long range without gaining disadvantage at its max range, he can ignore ½ and ¾ cover, and he can take a -5 to attack to gain +10 to damage.
Ranger 5 is the final level for this build with the Feature of Extra Attack. Now Bayou Billy can get two attacks a round.
