Amira is a tiefling who has spent a large portion of her life as a side show attraction for a human sea side town. She has always lived to bring a bright cheer to her audiences so it was to no surprise to her that she was recruited by a traveling monk of the sun. She left the monastery, having been trained in the monk’s life and as a clerical acolyte of light, to seek out adventure beyond the horizon.

The three things that I wanted to achieve with this build are:

  1. Radiant fire power.
  2. Martial arts meets clerical power.
  3. Highly defensive front line prowess.

Race

For Race of this build I went PHB Tiefling. With Tiefling she gets Darkvision 60′, Hellish Resistance, and Infernal Legacy. Infernal Legacy

Background

For Background I chose Entertainer. This background grants her the skills of Acrobatics and Performance, and tool proficiencies of Disguise Kit and Shawm as the musical option. She also gains the feature of By Popular Demand which allows her a chance to get a free room for a performance.

Class

For the Class make up of this build I went with Monk 4 (Way of the Sun Soul)/ Cleric 2 (Light Domain). This combination gives her capable defensive abilities, radiant bolts at will, and multiple types of energy attacks.

Monk 1 is the starting class for Amira. With this level she gains Athletics, Insight and Brewer’s Cook’s Utensils. This is where she learned how to fight and gauge intents of those around her. She also gets Unarmored Defense and Martial Arts.

From levels two to four she continues her path in the way of the monk gaining Ki, Unarmored Movement, her way of Sun Soul, Deflect Missiles, Radiant Sun Bolt, Slow Fall and the feat of Crusher.

The last two levels for her development, that being level 5 and 6, is the cleric with the domain of Light.

Cleric 1 grants her armor proficiencies, Spellcasting, the Bonus Cantrip of Light and Warding Flare. Warding Flare grants her a powerful defensive boon that imposes disadvantage on attack rolls that initially hit you.
