A failed monk acolyte turned bard and part time bartender , Zinzeiros” ZinZin” Caphaxath, enjoys the adventurer life so she can save up for her own bar one day. ZinZin is a high elf who has always felt out of place among her fellow high elves. When she became old enough she left to go to a monastery in order to find her place in the world. Unfortunately, she found the rigid training too much for her, and decided to create a small makeshift distillery in a cave behind a waterfall. It grew in popularity with the other students and was eventually ratted out by a fellow student. She was bounced out of the monastery but she was able to set up a job at a nearby tavern and picked up the brewer’s trade. In between adventures she tends the bar, entertains the tavern goers and handles the tables as needed.

The three things that I wanted to achieve with this build are:
- Beer slinging talents.
- Closing time clearing abilities.
- Business running acumen.
Race
For Race of this build I went High Elf. With High Elf I went Dwarvish for the language, and Ray of Frost for the cantrip. The remaining racial features are common to most elves.
Background
For Background I chose Guild Artisan/Guild Merchant. This background grants her the skills of Persuasion and Stealth, tool proficiencies of Woodcarver’s tools, the language of Draconic and the Guild Membership feature. This will allow her to have access to guild sponsored lodgings, connections to political powers and the opportunities to meet allies,
Class
For the Class make up of this build I went with Monk 1 / Bard 5 (College of Glamour). This combination gives her capable defensive abilities, armed and unarmed actions, and multiple means of ending fights before they begin. That is helpful when a rowdy bar fight kicks in at closing time.
Monk 1 is the starting class for ZinZin. With this level she gains Acrobatics, Athletics and Brewer’s Supplies. This is where she learned how to handle herself in a fight both in and out of a bar . She also gets Unarmored Defense and Martial Arts.
From level two onward is where ZinZin starts her training as a guild member, and picking up extra pay as minstrel in the tavern. Bard 1 grants her the proficiencies of Flute and Insight. She also gains Spellcasting and Bardic Inspiration.
Bard 2 is where she learns all aspects of running a business. Jack of All Trades allows ZinZin to add half her proficiency bonus to any ability checks that she doesn’t already have. Song of Rest is useful to help nurse the injuries of those who poor guardsmen who are just now getting off from their shift.
Bard 3 is where she picks up a whole host of abilities and features. Her Bard College is College of Glamour gifts her Mantle of Inspiration and Enthralling Performance. Mantle of Inspiration buffs her fellow adventurers in combat with temporary hit points and immediate access to their reaction to move without provoking opportunity attacks. Enthralling Performance allows her to increase her fame in her small tavern space, charming and impressing a number of people into super-fans. She also gains Expertise in Perception and Athletics.
Bard 4 is where she picks up the Feat Tavern Brawler. The increase goes to Con, she gains proficiency with improvised weapons and as a bonus action she can attempt to grapple a target she hits with either an unarmed strike or an improvised weapon.
Bard 5 is the capstone for ZinZin with the feature Font of Inspiration. With this she regains all of her expended uses of Bardic Inspiration on a short or long rest. She also has access to level 3 spells.
